Midi Question.

I have a cmi pci sound card. I am using Mpeis 2004.02 with all the latest from upgrade. I use Alas and arts and sound works but how do I get midi to work? I get some error that a module is disabled somewhere. I have no idea which module to load. Timidity works for playing midi, but it uses software emulation. Plus I creat allot of Midi content so I need actual Hardware Midi like Windows does. In the sound system setting of the KDE Controll Center there is no Midi device to select. Again. sound works otherwise. I just can't get Midi to work beyond Timidity. If anybody knows how to set this up, let me know. That would be greatly apreciated. Thanks in advace for anyone that replies here.
Just in case you need any infor on my sound, I am using Alsa and Arts as I have said earlier and my sound card is a CMI pCI card so my sound driver currently is snd_cmpci. If you need any more specs or further ino that could help you help me figure this out, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank You.

I had a similar problem with my laptop, though I wasn't using a cmi pci sound card. Eventually Midi started working for me. Take a look at this topic here in the forum: Midi not working on Mepis 6.0 (or click here). Although the versions are different, the solution might be the same. Good luck!
On the sixth day, God created the platypus. Then God said: let's see the evolutionists try and figure this one out.
