Hi everybody, I've just downloaded MEPIS but I can't get it working, it doesn't even start.
It boots ok, but hangs up in the device detection on some PCI device or the PCI bus whe I try to start in failsafe mode.
Whe I try to start it normally, in MATURE options says something like "IDE later description device" I don't remember if that's the very right prhase but it's something like that.
I have an ASROCK K7S8X SE motherboard and I had similar troubles when I installed Mandrake 9.1 9.2 and 10.0
I've worked it out just passing "noapic" as a kernel parameter, but I can't do this with MEPIS.
Any Ideas????

Hi,
I have one box with K7S8X, not se and had the same problem. To make mepis boot i had to go to the bios: advanced > chipset configuration > usb device legacy support and pick DISABLE. That made it boot, but with no usb keyboard.
I then reflashed the bios to ver. 2.5 and the problem was gone and the usb keyboard works great.
