Installing in Vmware 4.0
Posts: 1
I'm trying to run MEPIS in Vmware 4 Workstation. It seems to boot off the cd fine and loads to the desktop but the funny bit is that it won't create the partitions when installing to the HDD. I've tried using allocating disk space in Vmware, using the partition management tool to create the root, home and swap partitions.....dunno.
I'm at a bit of a loss.
Is anybody out there having the same problems?
More importantly: does anybody have a solution????
Thanks in advance

Hi Xion,I had the same problem initially when trying to install Mepis under VMWare workstation 3.2. It ran fine off the CD but wouldn't install to the virtual hard drive. The problem was that VMWare automatically set up the virtual hard drive as a SCSI drive. Changing this to IDE in the VMWare settings resolved this problem and I was able to install to the hard drive no problem. Mepis now runs very well under VMWare. Hope this helps.
