Here is a link to an excellent script that allows you to download AND install the latest versions of Firefox. there are also scripts for Thunderbird and Sunbird as well. I was having no luck finding a deb file OR apt-getting it so this was the best thing I could find. Enjoy

Tell us how you guys go. I upgraded to firefox 1.0PR (via debian experimental repository using Synaptic) but found that firefox was then quite unreliable. It would lock up sometimes - so I went back to the 0.9.x standard mepis 2004.03 version. I figure it was due to some incompatability between Firefox and KDE3.2. (Both Mozilla and Firefox generally seem to have issues with KDE? E.g web links from kmail just don't work).

If anyone has an easier way of setting up shortcuts let me know. I am still sort of a newbie at this.
Since I have another version of FF installed I just had all my shortcuts point to the new FF.
