accessing a smoothwall

I am a first time user of Mepis. All I can think to say is WOW! I have always liked Debian based distors, and prefered them to other distros (SUse, RH, Slack etc...). I really did not expect much from this (I figured it would be somewhat like Knoppix). But this rocks. I work in a Corporate environment, and have been wanting to try and use a distro for some time, I think I have finally found the distro I am going to try! It is the only one out of the box (Knoppix wont even run on my 810 Video Cards) that ran, worked stable, allowed me to do Java from the web browser (to access my Lotus Notes databases) and used Samba to connect to the Windows with blowing up! Very impressed indeed - enough so that I went right home and wiped out my Fedora2 install and laid this one down!

To my question:

The install has gone great, but at home for some strange reason I cannot access my smoothwall firewall from the Mepis box. I have a stand alone computer set up as a Smoothwall firewall internet access point. When I tried to connect to it https://192.168.254:441 it just hangs there and eventually times out. I figure the problem is with a firewall setting or something, but cannot determine how to disable it (I figure I should not really need a FW being behind the smooth wall). If I can get some help figuring this out, then I will be cooking with gas!

Oh, and finally how do you pronounce this distro?

Thanks
Dave
