Instead, I showed off the MEPIS Linux desktop -- essentially Debian + KDE -- and demonstrated a number of user-level programs. I was like a tour guide for desktop Linux, and since at least half the people in the room had never seen an actual, user-level Linux desktop screen before, the tour was an eye-opener for many. |
