Keyboard problem Alt Gr key not working

Hi,
I have got a Swedish keyboard which has the Alt Gr key to enable for keys to have more then two characters. It doesn't seem to work with Mepis. Quite annoying since the <at> sign for use in email addresses is <alt gr> + 2 ... Does anyone know how to get this working?

thanks,

Remco

Same problem for users but not for root

I have the same problem, but not when using root. I have tried to compare the settings between a normal user and the root account, but have not managed to find how to solve this.

I have also tried to remove the user accout (total removal) and add it again.. still same problem.

Please assist with tips on how to solve this! Smiling

Alternatively, set a "third-level chooser".

"A third level key allows you to obtain a third character from a key, in the same way that pressing Shift with a key produces a different character to pressing the key alone."

Go to "Keyboard Preferences" -> "Layout Options" -> "Third level choosers", and click "Press Right Alt key to choose 3rd level."
