PCMCIA modem
I am running a Dell Inspiron laptop with Mepis Pro bld 4. Of course Linux will not recognize my conexant d 480 V.92 modem. I am now unabel to get the PCMCIA 3cxm556 recognized with bld 4 ? It was recognized and worked well with Mepis Pro bld 3 and Simply Mepis current. Will it work again in future releases?
Another problem I have is : when I change the program memu and save it, rebooting x brings it back to the origional install menu.
And my last problem is the User manager. I am unable to make a new user and have it work properly? I get sound Issues , and am unable to get the new user listed on the log in menu? I was using bin/bash, and other files with no success.
Thank You in advance if anybody has any pointers in any of these issues.

regarding sound issue with new user
When you create a new user it doesn't automatically join groups needed to access some features. You need to add audio and other groups to your new user account. If you aren't sure what groups to include take a look at the groups to which your original user belongs.
I can't address the first question and I am not sure about the second, but I think it may be intentionally designed to revert to the original menu in some of the versions of Mepis. If true I don't know how to get around it.
