Error messages after Gnome installation..

..I'm getting an error message at boot into Gnome, after
installing it via apt-get last night.?? Otherwise Gnome works
well, faster than KDE, and useing less CPU resourses,
according to the System Monitor (at rest, about 4% for
Gnome, and about 18% for KDE on a Celeron 900Mhz
chip).

Anyway, the error message is an applet that pops up
as soon as the Gnome gui comes into view, and it says
something about the keyboard not being right, even
though the keyboard works fine.??

Any thoughts about what I can do to correct the error
messages popping up??? I also got the same message
when I went into the configuration editor and tried to
tick a box in the keyboard section:?? the applet popped
up seven times!?? I got rid of the error applets and
everything worked ok as usual.

Got to Keyboard in Desktop

Got to Keyboard in Desktop Preferences. Open the Layout tab, remove the currently selected layout and add it again from the available layouts.

That solved it! :)

Now, why can't I remove the clock from the panel at the bottom?
I added the clock because I removed the top panel, but now I
can't remove the clock I added;?? it just stays there (I "unlocked"
it).

Little problems like this are new to me.?? I'm used to big problems.Laughing out loud

When something is "Unl

When something is "Unlocked" it just means that you can move it along the panel freely (a "Locked" applet stays fixed in position). Are you also using the "Remove from panel" option (after right clicking on it)?

Yeah, I was just mentioning t

Yeah, I was just mentioning that I knew to unlock it before trying to
remove it.Smiling?? But the "Remove from panel" option does not work
when I click it nothing happens.
