Mount /home on RAID and configuring TWO Soundcards

However, I have to main questions

1) How can I mount my /dev/hda8 and my /dev/hdb (20 GB DD) using RAID?

Which is the easiest way to do this? On Mandrake, SuSE, RedHat all I
have to do is mount the /dev/md0 on the installtion phase and that's
about it.

2) How can I tell Mepis to use my CMPCI soundcard instead of my
via82_cxxx card? I edit the /etc/modules.conf file (I am using 2.4.x
kerneL), but the modules.conf file

I changed the following files:
alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss........
to
alias sound-service-1-0 snd-mixer-oss

And the following line:
alias via via82xxx
to
alias cmpci cmpci

But still, only my integrated soundcard works.

Apart from that, this is an awesome distro.
