A problem with K3B

Since I installed mepis pro b04 I have had a strange problem with K3B.. I have been burning data DVD's but since b04 I can burn one DVD as normal but when I come to burn a second the messages get as far as
Starting writing...
then gives the following error messages
Sad unable to PREVENT MEDIA REMOVAL: Operation not permitted
Fatal error at start up: Operation not permitted
Opens the DVD tray and stops. After a reboot everything works correctly for one burn then phhttt.
Any ideas ?

I just get the "latest version installed" message
As a by-the-way, I have never been able to make sense of the install instructions to add DVD burning to xcdroast, anyone care to give some pointers ??
