Card Reader Problem

I hope someone can help, I have recently upgraded to 3.3 and most things have been fine, apart from my 8 in 1 card reader, it worked with Mepis 2004-6 but now when I boot up I cannot get the card to mount.
If I use the quick browser and navigate to the /mnt file I can see a icon (sda1), but it will not mount, and there is no icon on the desktop and more importantly there is no line in the fsab for it.
Please help as I would not want to go back to 2004-6.

Ok now I feel a complet fool!
I have just used digecam to download my photos from my camera, and it worked perfictly.
One day I will get a handel on this Linux thing.
