I have Mepis 3 Live cd and when I try to load it to one of my PC's the sreen size stays at 640x480 and I can not change it to higher setting! I am very new to Linux world and so tired of M$ that is why I try Mepis and Xandros to find which one can be a better choice for a newbie
I loaded the same Mepis cd in to 3 different computers in my network and it works like a charm but this pc is my main one and I want ti install it inthis pc, can somebody please help me
80 GB hard drive, AMD 2800 , windows XP and Daytek 17" flat CRT monitor

As you know I am very new in linx world so could you please show me how to do that step by step? I read all the relevant posts and try to find my way without bothering you gus by asking silly question.
I tested the Live CD in other PC's and I really like the way it looks but I don't know how to fix it while it is live CD and not installed

I do not have that config file in my etc/x11/ directory. My setup screen is locked at 60 hz. Is there a utility? Do I need to update? I am completely new and it looks *way* different than xubuntu!

you could just copy the relevent parts of the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file of a working computer with atention to these settings for your monitor
