INITNG HELP
Does anyone here have any experience with the initng program. It is suppose to make linux boot faster by running processes in parallel.
I have successfully installed the program but have no idea how to configure it as yet.

INITNG
The site that hippy provided is the site but there is no instructions about what needs to be done after the install. It has charts about the program and what it is capable of. Right now it takes close to a minute before MEPIS even boots up. But apparently with this program it can be cut down to 20 or less!!!
The author, Jimmy, gave me some instructions but it did not help me in getting anything to work. If you are going to try it keep your MEPIS live CD ready in order to edit back your grub file to the way it was.

From what l read it seems it
From what l read it seems it is just in the test stages and still needs a lot of work but if they get it figured out it could be good.

INITNG HELP
That's what I am talking about right there. That is why I have been doing. Like I said, the developer stated that it is very much based on Gentoo because it is his favorite distro.
It is too tempting too overlook something like this because it makes so much sense. Starting processes in parallel.
I was only able to get as far as the boot up before it started spitting out errors and then just stopping. It does not lock up but it does not get any further.
You may want to contact Jimmy, the developer for more help. Like I said, keep you Live CD on had if you need to edit back the grub menu.list file to boot back up like normal.
PLEASE let me know if you have any success because I really want to get it working on MEPIS and some other distros as well.
