Sorry but I'm going to gripe! I finally get mepis 3.3 and get it loaded so I can get more functionality.I decided to use the MEPISGuides to get the some apps and to get walked thru the update process. It worked fine with the ATI Fire GL. Most of the other guides I decided weren't necessary right away but the color depth sounded like something I should do. ie When I run "tux Racer" it is very jerky totally unplayable. Many screensavers were not usable so from the description in the Change Color Depth guide I thought it should be appropriate and followed it to the letter. When I rebooted I no longer have a graphic interface just a login line and after that a command line and no knowledge of what to put in to return to function.
No Idea where to begin. Do I just bite the bullet and reload like WINDOZE and the have to rebuild everything I had downloaded?
IS the guide I used one of the BAD one that is supposed to be removed?

Thanks but that was a week ago I am way beyond that now. My point was about the guide being in error and since nobody wants to answer that I will go on to something else.

Reinstall X config

No need to reinstall, just pop in the cd, go into the "Install Me" Icon find the "reinstall X config" option and let it do its stuff, reboot and remove the cd and all should work again
