At last I succeded with the 3D acceleration in Mepis with my NVIDIA TNT2 card and Mepis 3.3.1. But not at first! As a user with Swedish keyboard I've found that if you choose that during the installation the computer will not start kdm! X functions but not kdm. So solution is to install as an american with american keyboard and english as language. When the installation is ready you can choose whatever you want regarding keyboard. Strange bug...
So now I'm back in the Mepis family after trying both Libranet, Mandrake and Suse. I've been a Mepis user since the first release but didn't success with 3D acc in 3.3 (see my complains under hardware earlier this year).
