Resolution Problems

I have a problem with my screen resolution, it's set at 640 X 480 and it's starting to get on my nerves. I have looked everywhere on how to fix my problem, and I tried doing the "xf86config" thing. No luck. Anyone outhere who can share their expertise with me?

you must be talking about KDE or GNOME, so at the Grub screen where you have kernel choices, towards the bottom you can add to the command line, add at the end, try this:
xres=1024x768 or
xres=1280x1024

with xf86config i have posted an example at mepilovers wiki, take a look at it and you will get an idea of the questions it will ask, you will also need to know the Horiz and Vert refresh rates of your monitor, and graphics card as well as the type of mouse you are using also remember that the text in brackets are examples only
