Security Concern: IP used to infiltrate
Posts: 78
Can anyone tell me if it is posible for an advanced Linux user to infiltrate a another user's system?
I am concerned cause I am participating in a forum where user IP addresses are being shown to all posters. I can see there's and they can see mine. I have real life adversaries in that group, but I don't want to feel like I have to flee.
Please advise

Linux is pretty secure. The first line of defense is to make sure you change the default root password.
I personally can't stand firewalls but I sort of understand why people use them. Personally, I prefer simply to avoid running services that might give access.

Hello senrats2000
Have you tryed to connect trough anonymous proxy server it hides your real ip address and only proxy ip is shown. In your browser preferences you can set your browser connect trough proxy, you have to set proxy ip and port. Proxy links and ip test is here http://www.stayinvisible.com/index.pl/proxy_list
If you need complete anonymity your better to use "high anonymity proxy"
and you must disable java in your browser be course it can reflect your real ip.
