Installing Intel 536ep internal PCI modem drivers

Hi,

I've been trying to install the linux drivers for my modem in mepis but I haven't got very far. So for I've downloaded and extracted the driver source to /home/murray/intel-536EP-2.56.76.1 and I've downladed the linux 2.6.10 kernel source and extracted it to /usr/src/linux-2.6.10.

Then when I try to compile the driver I get the follwing error:

root@1[intel-536EP-2.56.76.1]# make 536
Module precompile check
Current running kernel is: 2.6.10
/lib/modules... autoconf.h does not exist
please install kernel source
make: *** [check] Error 1
root@1[intel-536EP-2.56.76.1]#

I haven't a clue what to do now, so any help would be greatly appreciated,

Murray

try this

To be honest, I'm not sure if you will be able to make that modem work because I don't have any of them but I'll try to help you.

First you need to install the kernel source. Check the following links:
