More info needed

When you say nothing happens, what do you mean exactly? Does kdar open at all? What version of mepis are you using? I'm using Mepis 3.3 and just opened it through a terminal (konsole, as I don't use KDE)

Bob i never have tried kdar

Bob i never have tried kdar but following your post and the one from anticapitalista i decided to try mine

from k menu it will not start, just as bob says and when i run from console i get kdar: error while loading shared libraries: libdar.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

im using simply mepis 3.3.1 with only the default upgrades done since the may release, kde 3.3.2 and the 2.6.10 kernel

Maybe the problem is with Mepis 3.3.1. I'm using 3.3 with kernel 2.6.10 and fluxbox.

Maybe, kdar can/needs to be upgraded through synaptic. I do have libdar.so.2 it is in usr/lib/

I have the same issue with my system. There is a library mismatch. I upgraded kdar to correct the issue and it works, but I could only find an unstable beta. If you want to try this route, you can get the unstable beta from http://kalyxo-archive.mornfall.net/pool/main/k/kdar/kdar_2.0.4-1_i386.deb

Do this at your own risk as it worked on my system, but I don't know if it will work on yours.

I'm baffled.

P.S. A local friend just tried the link (copied and pasted into an email) for me, timed out.

hippy, thanks for your help, but it's just not working. Sad

I have left clicked, right clicked, middle clicked. I have used different browsers in different Linux distros, used Windows, and asked a friend to try it. Same result, no connection.

I wonder if it might be available elsewhere?
