Boot
I was asking me why the development team of Mepis did not allow the possibility on hard disk install to fix all parameters (like Knoppix allowing a classical debian installation) to speed up the boot process whithout to have at each boot a hardware detection.
May it be an idea for the next release?
Today I am very happy with my upgraded 2004.05 distro but I find the boot time very very slow.
After upgrading I had minor problems with Mepis-center and with bootclean.sh.
I applied the bug fix but this solution is not the cleanest way.
I never could bring up my mwamem modem to work and I am not a linux newbie (seem something wrong in Kernel image, I think I have to recompile a mwave enabled kernel).
