Simply MEPIS is simply GREAT!!
Having tried various Linux distributions over the the last year or so, I was about to resign myself to the idea that it was all beyond me, and that I would have to stick with Windows.
However, a chance visit to DistroWatch and a browse through the reviews of MEPIS inspired me to try this distribution before returning permanently to MS Windows. I downloaded and burned the image of the live CD, and 40 minutes later had a fully functioning Linux installation. I was, and still am, very impressed with MEPIS.
The only hiccup I experienced was that KsCD player ran audio CDs but produced no sound. Although I couldn't solve this problem I overcame it by installing Kaffeine Media Player which played audio CDs perfectly.
I have no hesitation in recommending MEPIS Linux as a viable replacement for MS Windows, and may I say congratulations to Warren and the team for producing a very usable distribution.
