Debian problems with apt-get today

I tried to do the apt-get update routine and debian and nerim both hung up.

Is this temporary? When will it be resolved?

The apt-get curse

Lon,

I think your box is rebelling against you for getting DSL.Eye-wink
Glad you got connected.

If you treat your beta-testers as if they're your most valuable resource, they will respond by becoming your most valuable resource.

I've had to whip it into submission and not out of the
woods yet.

I am connected today but only because I redid the
whole Mepis OS routine again.

Plus, when I get connected I may not have remembered each
element of what got me on.

Here's the best I remember:

Go through mepsi network setup
#pump
#ping www.[myISP.net

gives

64 bytes from 209.103.196.** icmp_seq=93 ttl 252

and repeats.

--> How do I turn ping off? [esc] doesn't work

So then the connection comes on.
But after shut down, it will be the same as before
I did any of this.

Use CTRL-C to abort "ping".

Use CTRL-C to abort "ping".

also to add to what Dave_L

also to add to what Dave_L says you could type ping -c 3 (your ip)
you can enter any amount 3 is an example, and it will just do that amount then close

Repositories Are Back Up

Re: Repositories Are Back Up

Ok. It's about 7pm up this way. I'll wail with it tomorrow.
