Mepis 3.2. test 02 bugs?

I've had Mepis 3.1 running for quite some time and decided to try 3.2 test 02. Evything installed as expected and I decided to put some additional Debian packages onto the computer using the Synaptic program and additional Debian repositories. To make a long story short, the additional programs installed as expected with no problems. So far so good. . . Then I rebooted the system and (this is my second install of 3.2 test02 . . .) and the same problem reared up it's head. My via sound chip is not found or recognized and my ps/2 mouse locks up at the very start. I can't even navigate to the control panel and see if I can fix these problems. Don't know what to do than re-install 3.1 again or wait for 3.2 to come out in it's final form. .. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
