ok at the screen were you pick the kernel u to want use, in the bottom box there are the options just type acpi=off and you should see it in the box then pick your kernel and enter. thats all to it hopefully you get booted to gui. also try all the kernels if u haven't already. sorry for starting new thread but mepis seems to still be having problems after the crash i can't login in the other thread.
I've been looking for the command line install instructions but haven't found any, SORRY. I'm still learning how to use the command line so I can't help you on that. Hopefully someone who can will stop by to help you. I'm pretty much out of ideas but i'll keep looking and let u know if i find anything. I'm going to chek out knoppix i beleive the mepis live cd is based on that, i'll do some test's on a spare computer that i put 64 ram into and see what happens. Don't give up will find an answer!
also on the left is the user guide it shows you how to use the options if u can't follow my post it has pictures that explains it really good.
