MepisLight Final test does not see USB

Hello Group:

I have tryied out the "onthego" from the final MEPISLite. It seems to have the same proble as before, not seeing the USB.

It will create a disk. But on reboot, it does not alow me to copy over the desktop. It says can not find device.

The desktop shows it is mounted however.

When I look at my USB in windows, it shows a onthego ISO.

What am I doing wrong. Thge older Traveller Disk did work. But the new onthe go does not seem to.

SimplyMEPIS 3.3.2.test03 does not see USB for using with onthego

I met the same problem reproted by frank with the lastest test version of SymplyMEPIS.

I ask to create OnTheGo Disk and everythings work fine but when I ask to copy between desktop the system reports the message "Unable to locate OnTheGo device"

If I look for the ISO on the USB device the ISO is there.

Is it necessary to specify something during the boot similarly to Knoppix option home=/dev/sda1 ?

Thanks, Matteo.

OnTheGo iso trouble

I had the same trouble with OnTheGo. I am using Mepis 3.3.2 test 03 as a Live Cd. Note: I am a first DAY user! Smiling

I logged in as OnTheGo, a new option at login. So I logged out and re-logged in as demo.

Still had a problem the first time I tried, but after I had saved a file from KWrite to the home folder, I then tried again and the copy process worked, copying from demo to onthego. So I made other changes and copied them again.

I then shutdown and re-booted. Logged in as demo-demo. Mepis came up with my saved data, including previously saved bookmarks and a KWrite file.

I don't know whether it was the login or not. Possibly, if you haven't made any changes to your data, it will not copy anything? Anyone else have input?

Also, how would one save the printer configuration?
