I have been looking at all the mepis 3.3.2.test03 they are all different sizes in different mirrors, i have no idea what the correct size is suppose to be, but that could explain why many people are getting different results with there copy. If u get a bad copy try a different mirror.

The new one works

Okay the new one i down loaded works. The difference is in the MB size, the bad one i had was 681MB the good one is 698.1MB and does not crash. I got it from distrowatch, for those who are having problems try a different mirror for the same version. To see the size of the one you have just hold the mouse over it. Remember just update what you need to use, till the repos catch up.

681MB

Thanks Kerry.
That would explain a few things.
I was wondering where that other 17MB went...

If you treat your beta-testers as if they're your most valuable resource, they will respond by becoming your most valuable resource.

ISO Size

The one available directly from Mepis's ftp server is 698MB.

The Lost 17MB

That's ok qtech, it's probably unimportant code that you wouldn't use anyway Smiling

when you

When you burn the cd then it shrinks to 681. More importanly it works my first downloaded copy was buggy as hell, this one is rock solid.I haven't had a single crash with this one. Also i only added libgnome2-perl,firefox,and okle + all dependences thats all.I will wait for them to update the repos, i see there doing that, it went from 3 yesterday to over a 100 today so its not there yet but there working on it.I have been checking for all the kde stuff since that is the cause of all the update problems. Maybe by next week it will be good.

I'm having the same problem.

I'm having the same problem. Every iso I download (including Distrowatch) comes in at 681mb, even if the download site says its 698mb. They won't burn either, so I'm guessing they are all corrupted. For that to happen on every mirror site would seem to indicated that the main Mepis distribution site had a corrupted iso to begin with, yes?

I guess I got lucky

I downloaded via Distrowatch from:
ftp://ftp.cise.ufl.edu/pub/mirrors/mepis/testing/SimplyMEPIS-3.3.2.test03.iso

It burns fine and boots OK. Konqueror says it is 681.8 MB. I got the same md5sum that drlizau
http://www.mepis.org/node/7682 reported after downloading from the Mepis site:
