Greetings!

Has anyone had success in getting an i560 (or related model of printer- i understand other drivers might work on the i560 model) working under MEPIS? i've tried turboprint, but have not had any luck. any tips would be appreciated.

P4 laptop, SimplyMEPIS 2004, USB-based Canon i560.

thanks for your time!

i550

Hello DM you can try the S600 driver . It works on my i550 fine , and i think they'r basically the same printer . tried the other sxxx drivers , in some cases they worked but not as well as s600 especially for crispness and color density . Some times depending on release of Mepis being used ive had to adjust margins , lately there pretty mutch good to go .

good luck jim

TurboPrint

Alternatively, you could download and install "TurboPrint for Linux". It's pretty good at recognising Canon printers. It's commercial software but it works for free for some printer models.
