Mepis 3.3.2.test 3

This distro works great for me. Installed without a hitch. I downloaded and installed
files from the Debian repository with Synaptic. Ap2s file still doesn't want to install and hangsup the rest of the installation. Just don't install that file and the
rest will install A.ok. The distro a very good. Had no problems with on board sound, Nvida video card, etc.
Despite some of the posts that I've seen here about this distro leads me to believe some people thinks it's a piece of crap. Well I've good news for them. Considering it
current state of development it's not bad. I remember all the problems with windows in the past and the tons of patches I needed to install and the on-line registration on and on and on. Mepis Linux is a good OS (as are others) and is continually being improved. It may not have all of the latest hardware (software developments) but is is sure cheaper than paying Bill Gates my money for his quick to market flawed software. It's an evolutionary cycle and it may take time to develope and write Linux software but it's worth the wait. I'm alot more richer now because of Linux then with Windows and all of the other commercial software I've purchased in the past. . . . (i.e. v2,v4,6,7,10,20 .....on to infinity. $$$$$$$$)
I wish the development team continued success in their endeavors with Mepis.

Mepis 3.3.2 test 2 was buggy and didn't really seem to great, but mepis 3.3.2 test 3 is really good. and the main thing people complaining have to consider is that this is a TEST os. if you don't like it, your feedback about the flaws should be reported to , not here as that create un-neccessary FUD. and thats all we need!
bit of a rant following about other posters and my opinion, take it or leave it. your call.
Peoples issues with mepis being outdated is also a flawed statement in my opinion. mepis, like all true debian based distros can only roll with what debian is offering to ensure true compatability. people really do overlook this fact and seem to blatantly ignore so it don't get in the way of there complaining.
the changes that debian is making to introduce kde 3.4 is quite a task, anyone moaning about the lack of kde 3.4 really need to look into why it's not there first. mepis is not meant to be bleeding edge, use debian SID for that. Mepis is designed to be stable and an alternative to other distros including Windows os's.
I would prefer that people who just want to complain and threaten to move from mepis should just do it instead of procliaming it to the mepis community. Warren and the team know there goals for mepis and if there not what you want then either move to another distro of make your own. open source is about choice after all.
and im sure the people who do complain are the sort that wont actually read this, as always...

Using Mepis...and proud of it.

Excellent Distro. Kudos to the dev team! Everything worked when loaded including my webcam that did not work before and my Epson CX4600 continues to operate perfectly! I now have a reason to lose Windows once and for all! Thank you for all of your hard work.
Another great test release!

Cloned my 3.3.1 system, upgraded cloned drive with 3.3.2 test 3. Everything worked great. Kept all my data, email, and browser configs. Nvidia drivers and sound both worked with no problems.
Whole process took about 20 minutes (including cloning with Acronis). Mepis is THE DISTRO. Warren is the man!
Thanks to the Mepis team. Looking forward now to the 3.3.2 release.
