A question for those who have kde 3.4.2

Has anyone got that system monitor thing back the one that tells u cpu usage and memory usage. If u have I would like to know how. I'm using kcpuload but prefer the other one.
(hey hippy u try that new kde performance setting(under KDE Performane)that really speeds up desktop start time, it might help for your tranlucent thing)
I'm looking at my other mepis and i think system monitor is just not in the new kde.

Take a look at 'gdesklets' too. I find it more user friendly than superkaramba. Gkrellm is ok but wasn't my thing.
Are you guys getting readings on fan speed or s.m.a.r.t sensors?
I think there may currently be a problem with sensord or the i2c module.

Hey guys, it's no big deal i was just wondering.I don't use karamba because it takes 3>5% of my cpu and gdesklets reside on the desktop, i don,t show desktop icons so thats out.gkrellm? i want something that sits in the panel.
hippy if u open synaptic and click on status then not installed(residual config) those are what was replaced as u can see theres still alot missing, some of those i don't care for i have just marked them for complete removal, the rest i will wait on. alot of those can already be installed(the ones with latest version #'s) the blank ones u can remove.i just go down the list clicking install and install all the ones that don't require anything else. then i'll take a closer look at the ones that require uprading somthing or removing something.takes a little time i do it when i'm bored.watch out for the ones that have been upraded but not fully removed.
on the regular install there are residual packages to, i have been marking for complete removal as i think there no longer needed and just left over crap from the build.also u can't do nothing with magpie.
also hippy how did u change media to devices so they show in konqueror. i'm using that panel applet "system" to access the devices that it has marked as media.(never mind i just changed the url to media:/ its all good now)
Ahhhhh! dam, i got 2 install's of mepis and i keep f#$kin with the wrong one! i think i'm going insane.

qtech, thanks for the heads up on gdesklets, they all look good but you have to have 2 or 3 or more to get what you want, i like them all in one box, i will keep gkrellm for now and look at editing a superkaramba theme for my needs, thanks again for response

Hey hippy, there is good info there, but not all of it is left over upgrade, some is just there from mepis compile(left over rubbish) I did a clean install to see and there was alot of residual rubbish so i marked it all for complete removal(i couldn't get rid of magpie)that way i can see what is left from upgrade. But i'm holding off on upgrade right now as i need my computer fully functional and i am testing elive on my other partion so i am with out spare space right now.I'm glad u found it helpfull, i'll postwhat ever i find.
(off topic)
I have installed opera several times if u keep it in your home it will be just like u left it when u reinstall. Also i have used the same code on a new install on a separate partion with no problems so using the same code works(this just for are personal knowledge if someone ask's)

kerry, no i have not got that system monitor either, im using the same one as you at the moment, i think you may be right that it is not included in the new release, i think i may give gkrellm or super karamba a look now, and thanks for the info about kde performance and start up etc, i will take a look at that
