Sorry joeintenn

I never even bothered to read the MEPIS Forum page i aways just went to recent posts, i didn't even know it was there. But never the less i see i'm guilty of posting in some of the wrong places and i apologize. I have now looked over the rules an hopefully will not make the mistake in the future.

in the future
i have been advised that Joe and I will get more admin control over the forum, and then we will prevent posting in some of these places, as well as be able to use the book features to archive old stuff.
mentioning of new forum software is still frightening after the phpBB hacking.

No Need to Apologize
There is no need to apologize. I agree with Adrian. Without a doubt a better forums solution needs to be looked at again. When it comes to comes to the forums module in Drupal, it lacks many important features. Hopefully this will improve in the near future. I also agree with Liz. After our last attempt to upgrade forum software, it is scary to think about going through a defacing of the site again.
We definitely need a forums solution with role based access controls. I have not had time to keep up with Drupal's advancement lately, but as I stated earlier hopefully an improved forums module will come in the near future. Until then we can hope that users will read and adhere to the sugested site usage guidelines.

Something is wrong with the
Something is wrong with the forum software if you have to post "please don't post here" messages. Somebody should be able to control which threads are open and which ones are closed. Maybe it's time for a software change...
