the latest trick is that the newest install suddenly changes from fixed ip to dhcp. it did it twice today.
as one of our programs is looking at a fixed ip address i either fix the problem or change 16 workstations.

because I gave up and let it chose dhcp. Oddly I have two of these machines at work, and its only one of them that does this. It may be a special feature of its ethernet card.

I havent seen this but it is a huge red flag for me too if it happens. Can you tell me a little more whats going on.
