Current Repositories ?

I got bit in the ass (alas, again) by some upgrades via synaptic, and had to reload 3.3.2test03. I ended up again with a login prompt that would not allow /anything/ to work to get me logged in.

I find the stated repos don't (all) work. There are several posts regarding new(er) ie: working repos, which seem to be playing musical chairs, but those lists are inconsistant or outdated.

Can anyone provide a valid, current set of repos that will especially get mplayer and some of the more basic updates, that work?

TIA,

Ken

Is MPlayer already

Is MPlayer already installed. The reason l ask is because l have it but the only way l can load it is to go to run and type mplayer. I just tried that and played an MP3 and then an Mpeg and they worked fine. Here is my /etc/apt/sources.lst though if you want it:

# See sources.list(5) for more information, especialy
# This file should be edited through synaptic
# New sources should be added only in the section at the end of this file!

Well, the NON-gui mplayer seems to be installed by default, but NOT the "real" version, and surely not the w32 codec needed to play wma and wmv, and a bunch of other formats.

By using your repos I was able to get rid of the mplayer-nogui and get the real one, and the codecs and all is now well with the world. PLUS it is now in the multimedia menu, and can be a taskbar too. !

Greatly appreciated. This is exactly the list I had before, (well, I also added ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian etch main & ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian sid main)

Now to solve the messed up skype anyone remember that repo?

Thanks, hoe !

Thanks for that, Nix Hard,

I can't find a .deb for any version older than the 'current' skype 1.2.0.17, so I guess until one or the other kde or skype can 'agree' I'm outta the skype 'biz.

btw, what do you mean by "pin" ? Lock it? And is there any way you know how I can get .11 ?
