Patching clamav?
Hi all,
I am using Mepis 3.3. with kernel 2.6.10 and KDE desktop. I am currently trying once again to figure out how to use kpackage (which was installed by default on my system; I have been unable to install synaptic) or failing that apt-get to patch my system. I don't care about having the latest version of everything I have installed (in fact, I'd much prefer an earlier but more stable version), but I DO want to get security patches.
Case in point: perusing my logs, in /var/log/clamav/freshclam.log, every hour there is a notation like this:

So, I just tried to use kpackage to install a more recent version. Here is the log file from that operation, which tied up my modem for about two hours:
