Next Stable Release of SimplyMEPIS?When will the next stable version of Simply MEPIS be released? I see that versions 3.3.2 and 3.3.3 have been released but I believe that these are TEST versions. (They are under the TEST folders on the mirrors). I believe that last stable version of SimplyMEPIS is still version 3.3.1. Does SimplyMEPIS plan to release a new stable version of SimplyMEPIS soon? Mepis 3.3.3 release
I must be blind! I have looked in *all* the mirrors (US & foriegn) for Simply Mepis 3.3.3 as announced. I also looked into the ftp.mepis.com directory. This version is nowhere to be found. Release or test. I can't even *buy* SM 3.3.3. SM 3.3.2 test03 is nearly everywhere and is what I am now using for my daily use. (I have multible, other boots for testing.)
I would prefer to use a so-called *stable* release rather than a *test* release, but I am still looking for a new release that will hotplug my USB memory devices as well as does ubuntu. With Mepis, whenever I plug in a different USD flash card, I have to reboot the O/S to see it. With ubuntu, Icons (and the directory contents) keep up with me as I plug and unplug USB memory. This is the only way that ubuntu shines brighter than Mepis!
