Grub problem
Can't figure out my grub boot menu problem. . . .it's probably very simple
and I don't see it.

Mepis is on drive 1 and Ubuntu is on drive 2. (i.e. C and D drives)

Mepis boots up fine. .. .it's Ubuntu that doesn't load up. . ..

Is that hdc or hdb? if it's hdc than you probably have to change (hd1,0) to (hd2,0) for both kernel and initrd lines

Jon's right, you need to change the kernel line( root=/dev/hd1,0 ) if the rest is rght. You can also get rid of the save default and boot. Next time you install another OS just install to root and chainload it's easier. Here's my menu so you can get a idiea what it would look like -->

Yes I didn't catch that, delete "savedefault" and "boot" those options are not compatible with the GRUB that comes with Mepis.

Sorry AdrianTM, my bag i wasn't paying attention. Your still the man. I would fix it but there's no edit option. It's what happens when i don't get my coffee(ran out of coffee and have'nt had a chance to go shopping yet) LOL.

Actually Adrian, your eyeballs spotted Richard's problem between drives hdb and hdc before I did. You and Kerry keep up the good work!
