keyboard map

I installed mepis 3.3.1 and had one problem:
it insisted on resetting the keyboard to us no matter what
-I have a Norwegian keyboard so this won't do..
-It possibly worked in kde but I insist on wmaker..
Finally I had to just delete the culprit: /sbin/mekb, this
program resets the kb to "rw" at boot. I just moved it to /home/warren
Now I can set the kb to no and all is good..
Any better solutions?

you can add the 2 letter country code you want to use to the grub boot line
(/boot/grub/menu.list)
I tried the OS center

I tried the OS center various times. I can try again, I have the mekb file ready. But everything works fine without it...
I don't use grub and I'm not going to when kdm is so fast and nice as this.
BTW I successfully upgraded to etch, mepis 3.3.2 and kde 3.4

don't use grub?

grub was installed as default
the suggestion is that you could add the correct lang=xx to the boot parameters in the /boot/grub/menu.lst file and it would be automated in all terminals, not just tty7 with your GUI.

from the mepis OS center you should be able to set your keyboard and locale without it resetting at boot. Did you try that??
