3.4 rc1 ... Stuck in 1028x768
Posts: 125
I've tried control panel and also editing X86Config-4 but the changes will not stick. Therefore I am stuck in a miserable 1928x768. What do I need to do in order to get to 1280x1024? TIA
(Except for this, everything else looks like smooth sailing!)
That didn't fix it but I did

That didn't fix it but I did find the solution. I had to edit the xorg.conf file instead of editing the XF886Config-4 file. I did notice however in the xorg.conf file that the other settings (hor/vert res, monitor settings, etc) DID change after editing the XF86Config-4 file. Doing the gui thing to change the res in Control Panel or in OS Center made absolutely no difference... I was stuck in 1028x768 until I edited xorg.conf.

X.ORG configure

Sorry, I had not tried that yet in 3.4 rc1.
Looks like MEPISOS Center is not reconfiguring X.Org correctly.
There is a X.ORG configure CLI instruction, can't find it just yet.
Off looking...

...lost print capabilities now. Am hoping new updates will fix this.
Display resolution; changing

If you forgot to set the resolution or you changed hardware:
1. Reboot with the Live CD.
2. At the boot menu choose the appropriate resolution. Note for SM 3.3 and above: select the desired resolution by pressing the F3 key at CD boot screen.
3. Log in as root/root.
4. Click the INSTALL ME icon on the desktop.
5. Reinstall X Config.
6. Select your installation partition.
7. Apply (don't forget to press Apply!)
8. Reboot.
