CardReaders and UDEV

I installed S/M 3.4.1 from a cd purchased from the Mepis store; the printer would not work even after installing the updated drivers as we should do (as mentioned on this web site). Per some suggestions elsewhere, I installed 'udev'. Now my CD and the usb card readers fail to show up in KwikDisk.
Does anyone have a fix?

Get the newest 4.2-rc1 version.

When I ordered the cd from the company store, there was no indication that it would be an 'rc' disk. I can only download at 16.8 K/s----I'm
too angry to bother calculating the time to download S/M 3.4.2; I certainly won't d/l an 'rc' version!

E-mail the store --- I'm sure they'll burn a new disk for you for free. Explain that you have only dialup. If that doesn't work, let me know, and I'll burn one for you

Get the newest 4.2-rc1 version. According to others, the UDEV/USB problem might be solved.
