Couple of problemettes
Just installed 3.4-2rc1 using my original home.
I find that I can't add new contacts in the kmail address book, I get the message :
The resource '/home/tcase/.kde/share/apps/kabc/std.vcf' is locked by application ''.
I had this problem some time ago in an earlier version of mepis but can't remember how I solved it.
Also, I don't have xine and it doesn't appear in my repositories, does anyone have a repository/link. I tried using an RPM and alien but just get segfaults. I suppose that I could get source but was hoping to avoid that.
Probably others but I can't remember any at the moment.

Debian packages may be downloaded from "unstable" distribution. You just need to run something like:
# apt-get install xine-ui

# apt-get install xine-ui
That worked after I added unstable to sources.list.
Strangely though, it doesn't appear in the kpackage list ?
