I can't seem to change the fonts in Firefox

I don't know what I did but I can't change the font, it seemed to work at first, but now no

check

and see if your firefox is set to use the system settings, if so change it to 96dpi instead. There are a few things you can do to change the size. Mine is set to 12 for all and i use the font size changer that comes with my menuX extension. There's also a extension called zoomy that just does fonts. To manually change it if the panel is not working you can type about:config in the address bar and fonts in the top bar and all your font settings will be listed then just double click to change it, right click reset to bring it back to stock.

I see some things, but not sure

I see antialiasing etc. set at 10, but I'm not sure if I want to change all of them

whats wrong with the preferences sections to set as font 12 min. size

is that broken ?

Please advise

Mine's not broke

Hey Agent86, mine hasn't broken for a long time, but i did once have the same problem. Try going into veiw>textsize>increase, after you increase the size there try setting it to the new size then close FF and open it back up and see if the settings held(try to unstick it, i guess) other than manually changing the size i don't know if there's any real fix. You can use the text size increase to spot the ones you need to change just make them huge and you can spot them in about:config easy. Other than telling you the stuff about extensions maybe interfering and you should go into your home folder and reveal hidden and rename .mozilla to .mozilla~ or .mozilla.old and try to make the changes in the stock mozilla and see what happens.Good luck and merry Xmas

Thanks I'll Try

Thanks

I did mess with the settings a lot more, and it seems that when I change the main setting on the first font screen that nothing really happens and the advanced settings same thing nothing, but

If I changed the font type of the main, then make some changes to the advance and also play with the use my settings, and not auto settings by make sure that options is checked then uncheck and a combonation of things like that

Then I can get some changes to take effect, but only after that mess of tricks

Anyhow thanks.

Solution: edit font.size.*.x-western in about:config

I'm not sure if this is a bug in Firefox or in the settings
that Mepis applies to its bundled Firefox,
but what's happening for me (SimplyMEPIS 3.4.3rc3, with
the Firefox 1.5 that came with it) is that when I change
my font sizes in the standard Preferences dialog, they
end up being reflected as changes in font.size.fixed.null
and font.size.variable.null when I look in about:config
I guess none of my normal fonts match "null" (do any?)

If I edit the font sizes in font.size.fixed.x-western
and font.size.variable.x-western then these edits actually
get reflected in my having bigger fonts, and they persist
when I close Firefox and reopen it.

I hope this helps.

Banner fonts

This indeed changes the font size in the body of Firefox, but how do I change the font in the banners (ie File Edit View Bookmarks etc.)?

Nothing I have tried seems to touch them.

Banner Fonts for Firefox

Hi Jimbob,

I finally found this to change the communist Russia look of Firefox 2.0.0.1. banner font, to a more eye-appealing look that is much like Firefox for Windows:

I'm using Simply Mepis 6.0-1
