what happened to devices icon?

I recently installed 3.4-1rc1, preserving /home in upgrade from 3.2.? (can't remember what my old version was, boot disc is among the missing)
What I would like to know is, what happened to the devices icon and the left pane of save as/open dialogs and in konqueror? Retriving/saving things to other partitions/drives/floppies/cd's/dvd's is much more difficult now.
Is this a function that was left out of KDE in 3.4? If so, why did Warren not fix it, like he did with Apache 2.0, Webmin et al?
This is not a deal-breaker --- but it comes pretty damn close.

Hi
Or you could always open Konqueror, then in the main tool bar click on Go, scroll dowm to Stroeage Media, then you can mount any drive you like.
