dtv1000t

I have installed a leadtek DTV1000T digital tv card in my home machine and
installed Mepis 3.4.3-rc1, with the 2.6.15 kernel. (I believe thar this kernel is the first to support this card natively)
It appears to be recognised on dmesg
I am trying to use xawtv to view it, but can't get it to scan for channels.
I have run scantv . Before I got the new kernel it did bugger-all. Now scantv
runs up to a point:

I have looked through some FAQs on DVB linuxtv.org, v4l etc but couldn't
find what I want.
Do I have to install some other dependency for the vbi or DVB?

you are not alone

Use Kaffeine

Use the media program Kaffeine which will allow you to scan TV channels and view the TV card. I have one here and it works out of the box with Mepis V3.4.3
