Yes, RC are Betas, they are

Yes, RC are Betas, they are Betas that are supposed to be released if there's no major bugs, they are not meant to be used as final product. That being said I didn't have any major problem with them -- but I guess I'm lucky and I have common hardware.

As about the first post, make sure you ISO file you downloaded has the correct md5 sum and also check the CD if it's OK I am not aware of any major change from other RCs that could have caused that problem. After you make sure the CD is OK write to with a detailed description of your problem and your hardware.

3.4.-3rc3 install + video resolution

Just installed rc3 on my spare athlonxp machine. Just downloaded and installed the rc2 the night before the rc3 came out. I had no problems with either, but it was nice to have the key set for debian etch in rc3.

My spare system has a nvidia mx-400 and it has always worked, even though it is a little blurry.

I have noticed that the default maximum resolution for X is 1024X768. Ever since I purchased a 17 in lcd I have had to edit the xconf to add the 1280x1024 resolution (native). It is not difficult but I was wondering if many other people are running into this now that larger monitors are more common.

Thanks for all the hard work! SimplyMepis is still simply the fastest and easiest way to get up aand running with a linux desktop system!
