I am not having any major issues now, although at first I had trouble installing because my hard drives were not found by the CD. I turned LPT support off in the BIOS and rebooted and since then everything has worked pretty well - even after turning LPT back on.
I filed a detailed bug report with MEPIS folks.
My floppy still does not unmount and then mount reliably, even with the update of Udev to 0.81. This is a minor issue, since I have moved to using USB Key for most file transfers, but it might be a big issue for some.
Also, I still read about people having problems with their SATA drives. This could be a major problem for those with new hardware.
I voted for another RC. MEPIS has a well-founded reputation to uphold.
