where to put wireless key
Hi I used to connect through wireless router to internet and it used to connect well earlier.I recently introduced password for encryption and it is working fine with windows. But Mepis wont connect.
So can someone walk me through steps where i should put key in Mepis wireless to make it work.
I am using Mepis 3.3.1
thx

So...
If a wifi connection is not encrypted, will mepis connect automagically? Or do I have to do something special?

wep or wpa
are you using WEP or WPA encryption?
is unsure in windows, view the wireless window (double click the wirelss icon in the system tray) it should state what type of wireless encryption your using.
i personally use WPA, but you have to download the wpa_supplicant package (http://pacakges.debian.org) and configure it.
http://www.mepis.org/node/6671 covers how i get my wireless card up and running with WPA. i think it's all still valid.
EDIT: Also if you have disabled SSID on the router you might have problems connecting properly. disabling SSID is no more secure than having it on.
