Has anyone ever heard of this distro or better yet tried it? ->

I'm running it through my translator in case some don't have one installed.
This one looks very promising it runs xfce4 and is debian based.

I'm running low on cdr's and was wondering if it's even worth tring. It never hurt's to see what's out there to remind us of why we love mepis so much.

and dreamlinux is in the "To Be Included" list. It was submitted 2006-01-10 and will have 90 days to be "watched" by them. The link points back to the home url.
Just read your post kerry. Guess I'll hold off on checking it out

Why thumbs down?

I haven't tried it, but, Kerry, what are your main reasons for the initial thumbs down?

I wouldn't ...

I wouldn't waist my time either.
MEPIS has evolved so well that I always feel that other distros are a step back in time.
I went from Mandrake6-7-->-SUSE8-9-->-Unbuntu--->-Mepis.
Warren seems to have tested a lot of Debian distros before he got down to designing Mepis' best features.
Good luck!

Screen shots gave me the willies... GNOME...
I prefer KDE and MEPIS is the best Debian/KDE clone around.

it's not gnome it's xfce4(i use xfce4 in mepis to). the reason for the thumbs down was i couldn't get it to do the english part good. it says on the web site that it supports the three languages, but with the live cd the english is only in the mouse tip info, so i said what the heck maybe it will be fully english on install. that wasn't the case though, it was a mixture of 2 languages, then i couldn' get my internet working so wiped it and moved on. for us xfce4 user's the distro looks very promising, but still needs alot of work. i'm going to keep a eye on this one perhaps in the future there english support will be better. it's a small distro so it will be great on old computers(like my laptop), plus it has all the great apps available from the debian repos. mepis is great for my desk top, but with kde as the desk top you have to install alot then cut it back to meet certain needs. I would like a distro that is debian compatiable but with a small desktop to start with, and i'm not talking like dsl(damn small linux) were they use debian packages that have been trimmed.
ohh, i hate gnome as well.

The taskbar/panels look like customized Xfce to me:

Several Gnome and gtk apps are visible, but those can run in any DE.

I haven't tried it.
What do you see as its advantage?
Do you want to construct your own distro with MKDISTRO?
Do you want to learn Portuguese
??
I'm happy with Mepis, unless I get desperate for a 64-bit OS.
