Audio Issues

Computer Info: I am running an older pentium system that I just reformated (As my XP died) and installed Mepis. I am new to linux in general. My sound card is integrated as far as I can tell as I've never installed one and there isn't one attached to a PCI slot. Smiling Other hardware I'm running: Two liteon media drives a CD-rw and a DVD, CD-rw, a 40GB HDD and a GForce5700LE.

I finally got my audio Cd's to play after changing my preferences through XMMS. If someone could tell me how to access preferences w/o having to go through XMMS that would be great too. However the audio coming out of XMMS is very very very quiet. I have to turn my speakers way up just to hear it. I know this is probably trite but I am a noob at this so any help would be appreciated. Smiling

To increase sound level you have to move the volume slider up in kmix which should be accessed on the bottom right.

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

teh Duh!

That did it. I had thought I maxed out my mixer but that was probably before installed yesterday. Thank you.
