alsa sound problems

I get Bad page state at free_hot_cold_page errors on console when playing sounds on 3.4-3. This problem seems to be related to a defect in ALSA 1.0.10 used in 3.4.3.
apt.mepis.org has ALSA drivers only for 2.6.12 kernels. Any idea where I can get new ALSA drivers corresponding to 2.6.15 kernel used in 3.4.3?

I had this error too...
Message from syslogd@localhost at Sat Feb 11 12:33:03 2006 ...
localhost kernel: Bad page state at free_hot_cold_page (in process 'artsd', page c16dda60)
localhost kernel: flags:0x80000404 mapping:00000000 mapcount:0 count:0
localhost kernel: Backtrace:
localhost kernel: Trying to fix it up, but a reboot is needed
I think I upgraded arts to a newer version, and then it stopped. What's a bit funny is that one day later it suddenly appeared again for a while and then went away again... At the moment it's all right...

Yes, this is a known problem in ALSA, and is now fixed according to
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=354041
I have found that my ethernet doesn't work when the problem occurs.
(Asus A7N266VM motherboard).
Someone suggested to change the audio device from Auto to ALSA, but I can confirm that this does not fix the problem. The problem is erratic. You may think it went away, but it is still there.
Until the fix is available in Mepis pools, I suggest to change your
audio device in control centre to "OSS" or another one.
