I have a printer Canon BJC 4300 and when I install it everything goes good. When I go to print it just does not want to print. Mike

Keep in mind that Canon printers do not have very good linux support. That is because Canon is not interested in linux. I bought a pixma 3000 and found that it would kinda work with the free drivers. Fortunately, there is a german company that does drivers for Canon printers (TurboPrint) and they work great!
You should be able to get some sort of output if cups is setup correctly. Sometimes I have had to go into KDE Control and restart the print server and that gets it going.

Do their drivers give full functionality?
I don't want to pay for the drivers and
not get all the options and capability
that I would have running the printer
from a Windows box.

You can download Turboprint and try it out. The trial version prints the Turboprint logo randomly on the page, otherwise it is fully functional. You can then decide if it is worth spending 29.95 euros for the keyfile.
